Ecologist
EDAW Inc., a world leader in Environmental Services, Planning, and Landscape Architecture, has an immediate opening for an Ecologist in our Seattle office.
Duties:Designing and conducting ecological studies, managing projects, data analysis, and report preparation and editing. Provide project management expertise on environmental and compliance projects; develop federal NEPA, WA State SEPA, and CA State CEQA compliance documents; support land use planning, design and landscape architecture services. Complete project tasks including data collection, data analysis, impact and mitigation assessment, stakeholder involvement, agency consultation, and report writing and QA Coordinate project efforts including scheduling, resource coordination, task management, and client and agency communications. Assist with facilitation of public or client involvement in the environmental planning efforts Assist with preparation of proposals for environmental projects; contribute to client relationships and business development efforts. Projects are primarily located in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho, with occasional projects in Alaska and assisting our California offices.
Skill Requirements:Strong analytical and organizational skills. Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills. Ability to work independently as well as in multi-disciplinary ecology, planning; and design teams. Proficiency with MS Office Suite required. Proficiency with GIS tools a plus.
Experience Requirements:Candidates should have a minimum of a M.S. degree in ecology, environmental science, or an applicable discipline with 10 yrs of experience. The position requires a familiarity with Microsoft Office and database programs, plant and wildlife identification skills, endangered species ecology, wetland delineation procedures, solid writing skills, and versatility in working in cross-disciplined projects.
